How it works
- 01
Enter a public page URL
A bare domain is fine. The server follows redirects, then reads the final HTML.
- 02
Read the checklist
Each row is a pass, a warning, or a fail for the title, description, canonical, robots, Open Graph, Twitter, and JSON-LD types.
- 03
Fix the warn and fail rows
Start with a missing title, a noindex robots tag, and a missing og:image. Those are the rows a preview or an AI crawler trips on first.
Title and description are what a result quotes
The <title> is the short name of the page. The description meta tag is the sentence under it. AI search quotes more cleanly when both exist and the title says what the page answers. A missing title is a fail. A title past about 70 characters is a warning because results cut it.
Social apps read Open Graph, not the title alone
Messaging apps and social networks build the card from og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url. og:type says whether the object is a website or an article. twitter:card picks the X layout. A missing og:image is a fail because the preview then has no picture. Make one in the OG image generator.
JSON-LD types tell a crawler what the page is
A script type="application/ld+json" block can name the page Article, WebPage, or FAQPage. This inspector lists the types it could parse. It does not score the prose. A noindex robots meta tag is a fail because it asks search engines to leave the URL out. The wider crawler checklist is the AI SEO checker, and the write-up is Next.js SEO for AI search.
